About

I have always enjoyed poetry as I remember from early childhood that it was rhyme that had helped me learn to read.  Even at that early age, I remember thinking, “I can do that!” And so I have. My early favorites included “The Mermaid” by Tennyson, “The Highwayman” by Noyes, “Annabel Lee” by Poe and “Hold Fast to Dreams” by Langston Hughes.  Currently I love Dorothy Parker and Sara Teasdale best, and various poems by Frost, Millay, Byron, Shelly, Keats, Yeats, Kahlil Gibran, Baudelaire, Billy Collins, and so many others over the years. I may be a bit old fashioned in my poetry in that I prefer for there to be a rhyme scheme and about themes to which we can all relate.  I am a sucker for lush imagery, and poems that involve nature (whether it’s Mother Nature or Human Nature, either one will do). What can I say?  I am at heart, a modern Victorian lady.
